I’m reliving it all again! No one will ever truly know what went into getting this book done! You can tell the story, but it’s so much more! It’s the feeling of having the ancestors at your side pushing you along. It’s the love of cooking from so many people coming together in one place. It’s living through the hardships we faced and knowing with God’s help we would make it through. It’s looking at those old pictures and seeing those people that you loved growing up and missing them so much it hurts! It’s for me, my heart on each page.

When I share this book and this story I cry as I am doing now because my heart is so full, so tender, broken at times and full of joy at others! I can’t put into words what this truly means to me, my love for my Italian family has always been strong but this has made it grow even more! I’m grateful for their sacrifice, they’re strength, their fortitude, their love of family, their love of good food and especially I’m so grateful that I can say they’re my famiglia! This book was for me! To heal my heart, that was broken when I was so very young, when mom and dad left me with my older siblings to raise while they came to America 🇺🇸 to start on the journey to make a beautiful life for us all! Thank you Solae’ for this journey, for the tears, the laughs and for listening to the prompting to see this through. It’s been a roller coaster ride! When we thought we were finally done with the book we cried because we didn’t want it to end.
