Almond Cherry Cookies

- Dough
1 egg white whipped until soft peak form
1 stick butter room temp
2 1/2 c almond flour
1/3 c maple syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
- Filling
Italian black cherries or maraschino cherries
- Frosting
1 c powdered sugar
2 Tbl cherry juice
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 Tbl milk
Sprinkles (optional)
Directions
- Mix all dough ingredients until combined. The dough will be sticky.
- Shape into walnut size balls then put an indent in the middle with your thumb.
- Place a cherry in the thumbprint of each cookie.
- Bake 350 for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool for 5-10 min on the cookie sheet before moving to a cooling rack. Cool completely before frosting.
- Frosting
- Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Drizzle over cookies and top with sprinkles if desired.
